The Village of High Ongar.
The small rural village of High Ongar, in the south of Essex, lies in a conservation area situated one mile to the east of Chipping Ongar and separated from it by the River Roding. The high street in High Ongar used to be on the main thoroughfare, now the A414, connecting Epping and Chelmsford, but today the village is situated just south of the main road. The Parish of High Ongar has a population of about 1,200 people and its Council, including the wards of Paslow Common and Norton Heath, come under the local authority of Epping Forest District Council.
